Morton’s Neuroma

Morton’s Neuroma

Morton’s neuroma is a painful condition that affects the ball of the foot, most commonly between the third and fourth toes. It involves a thickening of the tissue around one of the nerves leading to the toes, causing a sharp, burning pain in the foot. Some people may feel a sensation as if they are standing on a pebble or have a fold in their sock. Tingling, numbness, and swelling in the toes are also common symptoms.

The condition is often linked to wearing tight or high-heeled shoes, which can put extra pressure on the toes and nerve. Treatments can include conservative approaches like changing footwear, using orthotic devices, and corticosteroid injections, while severe cases may require surgical removal of the affected nerve.
